Posted on Dec 9th, 2024

Are you passionate about volunteering? Do you enjoy being personally involved in your community? Are you interested in maintaining and improving the quality of life at Stone Oak? Are you willing to share your expertise and support your community?

Please consider volunteering for an open position on one of the many Stone Oak Homeowner’s Association Board of Trustee Committees!  This is your opportunity to get involved and make a difference in the decisions that affect this wonderful community that we call home.

Take a look at the SOHA committees and their missions and decide where you might fit:

•  Architectural Control Committee: Assure an architecturally harmonious/desirable residential Community, considering the appropriateness of the contemplated improvement in relation to improvements on contiguous/adjacent residential lots, its artistic and architectural merits, its adaptability to the residential lot on which it is proposed to be constructed and such other matters as may be deemed to be in the interest and benefit of the owners of residential lots in the Community as a whole.

•  Communications Committee: Develop/maintain effective communication sources between SOHA Board, Committees, the Community, the Township, the County, and the State.

•  Executive Committee: Act ONLY in intervals of the regular SOHA Board meetings.

•  Fact Finding/Complaint: Serve as an objective and neutral hearing tribunal to determine whether there have been violations and make decisions regarding what sanction/s, if any, shall be administered in light of the violation of the Declaration of Rights and Restrictions or Ohio Planned Community Act.

•  Finance Committee: Recommend adoption of budgets, changes in the homeowners’ assessments, review/audit financial records, evaluate vendors and services.

•  The Grounds Committee is composed of three Sub-Committees -
Lakes/Ponds Sub-Committee: Health of all lakes/ponds including water quality, wildlife, algae, oxygen levels, phosphorous levels, nitrogen levels, and all other chemicals levels for lake/pond health.
Lawn/Landscaping Sub-Committee: Maintenance and sustainability of the grounds, trees, plantings, lawns and irrigation system of the Community common areas.
Stormwater/Drainage Sub-Committee: Recommendations on maintaining the community stormwater/drainage management system working with local authorities.

•  Long Range/Strategic Planning Committee: Provide recommendations for action by the SOHA Board, focus on preparing for major transition points in the SOHA future, may include the long-term sustainability of SOHA, financial stability, changes to the Declaration of Deed Restrictions and Code of Regulations, changes to major SOHA suppliers, possible assessments, increasing annual dues, creating additional income sources, changeover of the Property Manager, etc.

•  Nominations Committee: Prepare a slate of recommended Board nominees in sufficient time for preparation of a ballot for the Annual Meeting of the Membership.

•  Safety & Security Committee: Advocate safety and security for the Community working with local authorities.

•  Social Committee: Improve the social, cultural, educational, and recreational experience of the community.
